Why not try opening the pdf file with the Mac preview app which is OSX’s native app for viewing pdf’s and a lot else. Stuffit is an app thats made to expand compressed files like the unzip app and not something for viewing pdf’s by default.
You could right click on the pdf and use the open with menu item to permanently select preview as the default app to open pdf’s if somehow it’s been changed to something else less than optimal like stuffit!

The native Preview app will work fine. Give it a try. It works on my Sonoma, even though I have an older Mac Mini.

I downloaded the pdf just now and was able to unzip it by double-clicking and letting the default, Archive Utility (which seems to be a System:Core Service application).

I attempted to download the PDF version of the User Guide but when I went to open it, my Stuffit program just sits and spins. I have the same issue when I tried to install the Application Manager. I use a Mac Mini with a M2 Pro processor and have the Sonoma software installed and current. I’ve sent a question to technical support but can’t seem to get a response from anyone. I DID receive a reply with regard as to where I could download/install ON1 2024 Max and I’ve done that successfully. Anything you can do to help me would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
-Hal
