I’ve been a long-time user (~10 years give or take) and mid last year committed to using it as my primary editing tool. I have now gone back to Lightroom. The performance is awful, taking up to 8 seconds to load a photo and it is worse if you have applied NoNoise. I have a well spec’d laptop and get no issues with other software.

I would also add a point 11 which is stability/reliability and ON1 is questionable. In an effort to solve the performance issues, Support have recommended in the past to completely remove ON1 and reinstall clean. I did this recently and ON1 is worse than ever. Crashing on regular occasions (often quitting with no error message) and once it even completely deleted a folder of photos to the point I had to restore from a backup.

I wish they would address the issues that are clearly the product before adding more features.

I find the DAM in On1 is the same as your computer file system so you know how it works with no learning curve, I am using a IMac so cannot comment on a windows platform. But On1 seems the most intuitive software I have come across.

Especially working with albums isn’t flexible at all. And there is no real importer.
That’s what prevents me from switching from Capture One to ON1 completely.
For importing, organizing and DAM C1 is way better, editing is way better with ON1. I hope one of these 2 tools will offer a holistically best package soon, so I can drop the other one.

Furthermore annoying bugs like iOS video thumbnails displayed upside down don’t get fixed by ON1..
