The originals are grainy, and noisy. They somehow are very different than fresh raw images which ON1 handles very well. ON1 doesn’t seem to be able to ‘intelligently’ detect elements/features of the image which matter versus other small particles within the image. I can make ON1 smooth out those particles but incur unwanted blurring of other elements/features that should instead be preserved and somewhat sharpened. I can send an example image, but this web panel doesn’t permit attachments. In 2024 even some free web sites such as photobooth.online give a superior result for fine details. ON1 should be on par or exceed those capabilities.

keyboard shortcut to add a photo to a specific (predefined) TargetAlbum https://www.on1.com/products/photo-raw/ideas/idea/keyboard-shortcut-to-add-a-photo-to-a-specific-predefined-targetalbum/ https://www.on1.com/products/photo-raw/ideas/idea/keyboard-shortcut-to-add-a-photo-to-a-specific-predefined-targetalbum/#comments Fri, 17 May 2024 15:39:32 +0000 https://www.on1.com/?post_type=ideas&p=2241024 I would like to have a feature where I can define a target album and than use a keyboard shortcut to add pictures to this album. this would be very handy to get a collection of photos about one topic (or Person) from different cataloged folders. (E.g. album for grandparents for Christmas)

in Lightroom the shortcut was “b”.

Tacksharp AI needs to be much smarter https://www.on1.com/products/photo-raw/ideas/idea/tacksharp-ai-needs-to-be-much-smarter/ https://www.on1.com/products/photo-raw/ideas/idea/tacksharp-ai-needs-to-be-much-smarter/#comments Wed, 23 Oct 2024 21:30:44 +0000 https://www.on1.com/?post_type=ideas&p=2244965 Tacksharp AI in 2024 and now in 2025 is a global adjustment and it doesn’t distinguish between insignificant tiny bits versus well defined larger elements of the image. It currently either adds unwanted exaggeration to small bits and textures or you have to pull the sliders down so low that the amount of improvement of the larger elements is almost nothing.

The workaround I have to use: duplicate a layer, apply to the upper layer, mask only a portion of that layer. Create a stamped layer. That’s just too much effort for what should be a smart enhancement of our images.

I’m no expert on ‘AI’ but it seems ON1 PR Tacksharp AI needs more training on images with a mixture of large and tiny elements. I can provide examples.

And/or: masking should be available for Tacksharp like for Effects. It’s ‘global’ nature to date is not the right approach.

Add the colorize function to the Sun flare effects https://www.on1.com/products/photo-raw/ideas/idea/add-the-colorize-function-to-the-sun-flare-effects/ https://www.on1.com/products/photo-raw/ideas/idea/add-the-colorize-function-to-the-sun-flare-effects/#respond Tue, 22 Oct 2024 00:15:44 +0000 https://www.on1.com/?post_type=ideas&p=2244612 I use custom texture in the “Sun flare” effect to create light rays.
It would be useful to add the same “colorize” function available in the “Texture” effect in “Sun flare”, to have them merge better in the photo

Duplicate effects https://www.on1.com/products/photo-raw/ideas/idea/duplicate-effects/ https://www.on1.com/products/photo-raw/ideas/idea/duplicate-effects/#comments Tue, 22 Oct 2024 00:14:54 +0000 https://www.on1.com/?post_type=ideas&p=2244608 I frequently apply the same effects with different settings to different part of the image I’m editing.
In this case it would be faster to duplicate the first effect then edit the mask/settings of the copy instead of adding the same effect from scratch.
This is particularly true if the starting mask is complex and I just need to add o subtract to it.

Thus, would it be possible to add a function”Duplicate” (possibly to the tiny hamburger menu of each effect)?

Keyboard shortcut to cycle through sliders in any open panel https://www.on1.com/products/photo-raw/ideas/idea/keyboard-shortcut-to-cycle-through-sliders-in-any-open-panel/ https://www.on1.com/products/photo-raw/ideas/idea/keyboard-shortcut-to-cycle-through-sliders-in-any-open-panel/#respond Tue, 22 Oct 2024 00:13:50 +0000 https://www.on1.com/?post_type=ideas&p=2244579 There are a lot of sliders in the develop module (which is great!), and by extension a lot of keybaord shortcuts to remember and go through when editing. Instead of assigning a keyboard shortcut to each slider (or maybe in addition to that), add the ability to assign keyboard shortcuts to cycle between sliders.

example flow:
Ctrl + Q –> activate exposure slider (keep or change to ‘activate the top slider in active panel’)
Ctrl + Tab –> go to the next slider
Ctrl + Shift + Tab –> go to the previous slider

Exchange of information with other applications https://www.on1.com/products/photo-raw/ideas/idea/exchange-of-information-with-other-applications/ https://www.on1.com/products/photo-raw/ideas/idea/exchange-of-information-with-other-applications/#comments Tue, 22 Oct 2024 00:12:51 +0000 https://www.on1.com/?post_type=ideas&p=2244562 It would be very helpful if, for example, you could marl 10 images in ON1, then use Ctrl-C to store the complete path including the file name in the clipboard so that you could use this information in other applications.
Then the same way back. Select images using the information from the clipboard.
At the moment the catalog is not very powerful, so interoperability with a DAM system would be possible.

More complex rules for the catalog search. https://www.on1.com/products/photo-raw/ideas/idea/more-complex-rules-for-the-catalog-search/ https://www.on1.com/products/photo-raw/ideas/idea/more-complex-rules-for-the-catalog-search/#comments Mon, 21 Oct 2024 23:38:24 +0000 https://www.on1.com/?post_type=ideas&p=2244560 It would be great if you could set up more complex rules for the catalog search.
Something like:
Show me all photos that have 3 stars and were taken between 01.01.2020 and 10.01.2020 or 3 stars and were taken between 10.10.2023-20.10.2023.
This could be used to summarize vacations or trips to certain locations in intelligent albums.

Transform-Create distortions as well as correct them. https://www.on1.com/products/photo-raw/ideas/idea/transform-create-distortions-as-well-as-correct-them/ https://www.on1.com/products/photo-raw/ideas/idea/transform-create-distortions-as-well-as-correct-them/#comments Mon, 21 Oct 2024 23:35:06 +0000 https://www.on1.com/?post_type=ideas&p=2244379 In the Transform Module correcting divergent angles of vertical lines is accomplished with the keystone correction tool. I want to CREATE distortion, specifically in a layer. In an added layer, transforming a rectangular image to a trapezoid shape or something more extreme offers interesting compositional possibilities. I suggest this idea be considered for future versions of On1 Photo Raw.

Using 3X and 10X optical zooms on Samsung phones https://www.on1.com/products/photo-raw/ideas/idea/using-3x-and-10x-optical-zooms-on-samsung-phones/ https://www.on1.com/products/photo-raw/ideas/idea/using-3x-and-10x-optical-zooms-on-samsung-phones/#respond Mon, 21 Oct 2024 23:34:30 +0000 https://www.on1.com/?post_type=ideas&p=2244258 Hi,

I’m a big fan of PhotoRaw on my PC, but I don’t use it on my Samsung S21 Ultra because it doesn’t accept the 3X and 10X optical lenses cameras. I use other apps and edit on my PC if needed.

Will On1 Mobile accept other optical zooms than wide-angle and standard angle?

Thanks,

Yvan

Neon light presets https://www.on1.com/products/photo-raw/ideas/idea/neon-light-presets/ https://www.on1.com/products/photo-raw/ideas/idea/neon-light-presets/#respond Mon, 21 Oct 2024 23:33:25 +0000 https://www.on1.com/?post_type=ideas&p=2244136 Hi,

I would love to see a preset pack containing presets of neon light that could be used for night shots in fluorescent city scenes. That would be really awesome to have as a starting point in the editing workflow.

Thanks,
Greger
