Frequency separation and certain approaches using fill are not available in PR. PR has some limited skin smoothing approaches in “portrait” and other tools such as the healing brush, local adjustments (dodge and burn) though if one need significant work, other PP software should be considered.

Attractive men and women is simply not most photographers deal with. And while I’m complaining, let’s talk cloning: please no more beaches, people and birds against a one-tone blue sky. How about cloning out people and objects from within a frame where you have to match a background wall.
Glad I finally let that out.

She references it in I think in the “eyes” video as if it was the prior video but I couldn’t see it.

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCzXfyDXu-gCIZTnUtyCXeSA
He has numerous topics and series. One of my favorites is his “In Post” videos where he takes an image and, unscripted, does a full start-to-finish of the image while doing a great job of explaining why and what he’s doing. Also, since many of us have multiple editors, he does this with multiple editors, though often start from Lightroom (but the principles remain the same for other software).
Click on Videos on the link above and see what he’s got; you might enjoy it.

We appreciate the feedback and will do our best to improve the educational materials. Another Portrait related course was just released here:
https://www.on1.com/videos/overcoming-difficult-lighting/
Focusing on in the field and post processing portrait techniques in harsh lighting. It is a part of a bigger series of videos on that same difficult lighting theme. Again, thanks for the feedback!

It must be Portrait Editing course. See attached screenshot.

I suspect that the reason that no one has yet responded, is that you have not named the course which you found to be so disapointing.
Perhaps if you named the course, people might respond.
Best wishes, David Price

She does not provide a roadmap which IMHO follows a path: you need to do “A” to improve the image and “B” this is how you do it.

Thank you so much for the course on Portrait Editing. I really enjoyed the whole thing and picked up some great tips to use on ON1. Now I’m not a professional shooter—just an amateur who is very enthused in portraits of my family. I shoot with a Canon 5D iv and I usually use an 50, 85 or 135 lens. Can you tell me what aperture you usually use in your portrait sessions or how you decide what aperture to use? I try to shoot wide open to get the nice bokeh, but at the same time, the lens can be so fast that one eye gets in focus and the other eye not (f1.2, 1.4). For your Nikon lenses, is there a range where you often step down?
Thanks,
Joe
P.S. I also wanted to ask pertaining to the editing portion, do you use the sunshine filter as well?
