I’m a fan of the Curves Filter for quick editing and it’s capabilities with contrast but with another layer, you can modify the Tone & Color and add local adjustments, etc. It’s more so just another way to do the same thing, with a little more room to modify/edit.

Thanks very informative, why would you use the second option of an additional layer does
this not use up more disc space at the end of the day what is the advantage?
